The world has lost an Icon and the Sales World has lost a legend. I just heard from one of my Google+ friends that Zig-Ziglar passed away at the age of 86. I have seen him often in the past 20+ years and he was one of the most energetic and one of the kindest people I have ever met. Zig was a Christian, a caring person and a true example on how to live, he was a “Class Act”. He was more energetic in his 70’s than I was in my 40’s and his positive energy was infectious. The last book I bought from him was “Confessions of a Grieving Christian” he wrote this book after the death of his daughter Suzan. Zig wrote: “…Words make a big difference in our lives, and my earnest desire is that the words in this book will make a difference in the way you approach grief, gather strength, deepen your faith, and become healed from the deep sadness and sorrow that grief brings…” There could not be anything more appropriate to say: Rest in Peace Zig-Ziglar! We will miss your energy and wisdom!!! This Beverly Hills Realtor is grieving your loss. Looking for a complex yet inexpensive Pinot Noir? Look no further “667” !! Often times you are wondering what if I could buy an inexpensive Pinot Noir that tastes like the expensive ones, well good news is, now you can. As I stated above, you can: there is this French, Dijon clone from the cooler Monterey, CA climate. After I drank it, I wanted another glass, but unfortunately I was just trying out this wine, so I only bought one bottle. (Note to self buy two bottles next time when you are trying out a new bottleJ) 667 Pinot Noir tastes light, but as you drink it, the taste has a longer finish than one you would anticipate. I found it to be more complex than what the price would indicate as well. At $12-$16 +/- dollars a bottle this is truly a good value. (Click on the picture and see where it leads you!) This wine is from Monterey California and would you believe it, amazingly it has an alcohol content of 13.5%. My father used to say, if it is over 13% the odds are it will be a good oneJ well his system is a good rule of thumb! What I find most ironic is, that the Winery was created by an Italian Family not a French family: The Gaspare’ Delicato Family came to this part of the world in 1924 survived Prohibition and here they are one of the respected wine growers of California. (Click on the picture and see where it leads you!) If you see this bottle, give it a try and tell me what you think. This wine was recommended by your greater Los Angeles Wine Connoisseur Realtor Endre Barath, Jr. If you like more information check out this link http://www.dfvtastingroom.com/ If you are considering buying or selling a luxury home, an ultra luxury home, luxury investment real estate, luxury vacation homes, or luxury beach properties in Southern California, Los Angeles, Century City, Westwood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Marina Del Rey, Venice or Malibu, feel free to contact me at 310.486.1002 or homes@endrebarath.com or visit one of my websites at https://www.endrebarath.com. St Patrick’s Day in the US is celebrated on March 17th 2014 this year! Our friends from Ireland smile and laugh at our behavior. We all dress up in some sort of “Green” outfits, drink green beer, eat green food, and have green deserts. So where did this “green” come from? Most people have no idea, they think it is because of the Shamrock, or because of the Leprechauns or it is an “Irish Tradition”. Well would you believe it those who said “Irish Tradition” are half right. As most of you know Ireland has basically two parts and mostly they two section are divided based on Religion. There are the Protestants and then there are the Catholics. The Protestants have been identified with the color of “Orange” and the Catholics have been identified with the color of “Green” so if you are in Ireland it becomes very clear on St Patrick’s Day who is in which camp. Ironically this is very divisive in my opinion. Anyway there are other explanations you might find, but this one aspect is clear: in the United States the color “Green” represents St. Patrick’s Day and not the color of “Orange” Click on my pictures and see where they lead you to!! Even though St Patrick’s Day is on Monday, many people will have parties starting on Friday throughout the weekend. As far as most “Yanks” are concerned St Patrick’s Day is a” Drinking Holiday”, unlike our friends in Ireland think it is a” Family Holiday” and they get together and reminisce about their own family’s history. Here is an older Blog Post I wrote about St Patrick’s Day Check it out : http://actvra.in/x6h I will close with an old Irish Toast: When we drink, we get drunk. When we get drunk, we fall asleep. When we fall asleep, we commit no sin. When we commit no sin, we go to heaven. So, let’s get drunk, and go to heaven! So with that said be safe out there and if you are in need of Real Estate advice I will be working on St Patrick’s Day and will not be going to the parade either, so feel free to reach out to me! The Jury Duty Dilemma: Civic Responsibility and Work Responsibility, which one do you choose? If you work at a “Regular Job” 32-40 hours as a full time employee, depending on what your employer considers most beneficial from their perspective i.e.: what the healthcare, retirement and other benefits dictate as to what a full time employee is. Needless to say, generally if you get called on Jury Duty, you are exited for getting a break from your “Regular Job”. Now if you are a Realtor needless to say it does not matter if you are a Realtor in the Greater Los Angeles, CA or in Boston, Ma or anywhere in the Country, you are faced with a huge moral dilemma. What to do, squeeze out of the civic responsibility for the sake of taking care of your work responsibility. Well thanks to Diane, who was my moral compass and conscience I took the high road. I filled out the Forms and sure enough, checked in daily Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and go figure Friday I had to report for Jury Duty! I have been to the Downtown Los Angeles Court System in the past, but this time luck would have it I had to report near the Airport. That is Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) I have driven by this building often as I was on the Freeway and had no idea that it was the Court House. How excitingJ I get to be in the building I drove by so often and wondered what was housed there. I spent all day inside the Waiting Room, close to 100 of my fellow Juror Candidates went to the Jury Room, and then I saw many being released as I was still waiting for my turn. Well as luck would have it I was the second to last person who was finally released. Well if all goes well I am off the hook for another year or soJ. Keep in mind I had a client who was flying in that same evening from FinlandJ so my worries were unfounded. Needless to say I had to share a few pictures, since I have never seen anything like this in the Downtown or any other Court house I have entered for Jury Duty. Hope you will agree with me it is really coolJ! Figaro Bistro Boulangerie and Lounge is one of my favorite places in Los Feliz. Los Feliz locals, the who is who of the neighborhood, the regulars and the tourists all love to go and hang out at Figaro Bistro Boulangerie and Lounge. This fantastic French Bistro is Located at 1802 N Vermont St. Los Angeles, CA. (323)662.1587 in case you want to make sure you have a seat right away the call in advance! Their hours are incredible: open from 8:30am to about 11pm Friday & Saturday and until 10:30pm the rest of the week. If you have never been there, then clearly you are missing out. They have some fantastic food. The preparation as well as the presentation is great. We love sitting outside, we love that feeling which gives you the impression of typical Paris Café on the sidewalk. I have walked through the Lounge and inside but we always end up sitting outside to get the City’s WibeJ Diane loves their Lobster Risotto as well as their Crab Cakes. We cannot go to the Greek Theater without stopping for a fun early dinner before a performance. We keep saying one of these days we will just go and hang out and make a Day out of it. Check out their website and if you have time also look at the Commercials that were filmed at FigaroJ. Great food, great atmosphere and a fun place to indulge. There is food for every ones taste. The Vegetarian and the traditional will all be pleased. If you had a craving for Boeuf Bourguignon you will not be disappointedJ. Their wine list is pretty good and the best part is that most of them you can have by the glass at a reasonable price. http://www.figarobistrot.com/ If you are considering buying or selling a luxury home, an ultra luxury home, luxury investment real estate, luxury vacation homes, or luxury beach properties in Southern California, Los Angeles, Century City, Westwood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Marina Del Rey, Venice or Malibu, feel free to contact me at 310.486.1002 or homes@endrebarath.com or visit one of my websites at https://www.endrebarath.com.
