Magnitude 4.4 Shamrock Shake in the Greater Los Angeles area!
Well Good Morning and happy St Patrick’s Day to you all. We just had a 4.4 magnitude earthquake in Encino, CA. If I was working in the News Media I would have nicknamed it “The Shamrock Shake”J! This earthquake caught us in bed, so I told Diane just stay in bed and ride it outJ The quake was approximately around 6:25 am and we were just waiting for the coffee to signal that it finished brewingJ!
Lately we have had a few small earthquakes which I have not written about, because they were very small and not really noteworthy. A few people on Facebook made a bigger thing about it, than I thought were necessary. Keep in mind 2.9-3.3 is not that big of a deal. This usually translates to the picture frames on the wall might need straightening outJ and a few of the ‘nick- knacks’ might have to be repositioned to their original spot. Often times when we are sleeping we do not even wake up to those small ones.
The good news is: It appears that no one was injured. Our pets took the quake in stride. Well let me clarify “the boys” were quite relaxed. Our “little girl”, Jill who seems to be the “though one” was quite shook up and we needed to calm her down.
It was another one of those “wave type” when the earth moves like an ocean wave. Needless to say I have been meaning to update our Earthquake Kit, I guess it is timeJ!!
