Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties gave me a gift!

Posted by on 5:00 am in Active Rain | 0 comments

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties presented me with a gift!   I have always heard it is better to give than to receive. Well let me tell you something I was so surprised. I walked into my office in Beverly Hills, CA and the Office Manger said to me: Endre so nice to see you, did you get your present? Clearly I had no idea, evidently the owner of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties decided to give every one of his Realtors a Bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and a Business Card Holder. What a nice touch since the Company Colors are Cabernet, how many managers and owners would do that? First of all, most of you know I love wine, specifically red wine. I thought this was so nice and truly a great surprise. I found in my 19+ years in Real Estate usually Realtors give gifts to their managers or to their owners, not the other way around.   Generally owners & managers throw a Holiday Party and once in a while get you to go to a function or two where the Realtors get together but never giving gifts. Now just to clarify every agent in my Office received this. I did not take a survey, but I am sure I am not the only one who feels good about this. It was truly a pleasant surprise. Here is another reason I love being with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties in Beverly Hills, CA.   If you are considering buying or selling a luxury home, or an ultra luxury home, or luxury investment real estate, or luxury vacation homes, or luxury beach properties in Southern California, Los Angeles, Century City, Westwood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Marina Del Rey, Venice or Malibu. What do you love about your home and why?

Posted by on 4:01 am in Active Rain | 0 comments

What do you love about your home and why?   This question is always included when I go on a Listing Appointments:  What do you love about your home and why? The answers vary from home owner to home owner. One would think that the answers would me more uniform. Some homeowners show me their kitchen, others show me their bathrooms and then there are others who show me their back or front yards. I could go on and on. There are some home owners who like to show me their Media Room, their Gym, their Library or their Wine Cellar. Needless to say there is one common theme: There is clearly a love affair with their home or a specific part of their home. After I listen to their response, then I have the hardest follow up question to ask: Why do you want to leave your home? In other words why sell it if you love it so much? Needless to say this clearly leads to many more varied answers, which determine if the home owner really wants to sell or is just going through the motion, but does not really want to sell. (The answers could fill a book so I will not go into it here) When you have such an open dialogue sometimes the question gets turned back on me. Some of the potential sellers want to know what I love about our home. Then I think about it and realize that depending when I am asked my response can vary as well. There seems to be one common thread. I love the Resort Style Complex  with its  meandering streams, waterfalls and numerous pools, coupled with the fact that we live less than five hundred yards from the ocean. So that is the short answer.    I love living here in Marina Del Rey, CA  so much, that it takes Diane  a super human effort to  get me to go anywhere outside of our complex.  Often times she has to tell me that she read about this great Chef so we should try his foodJ that is a hint:  do not cook tomorrow! I love being at home in my office, on the laptop with my phone and being at home with the cats. Lucky for me I do not need to dress up to go to work and neither is my commute very long, from the bedroom to the home officeJ. Considering California for the first time: visit the Santa Monica Bay

Posted by on 12:32 am in Active Rain | 0 comments

Considering California for the first time:  Why not visit the Santa Monica Bay?   California has so much to offer, (please take my word for it). I have lived in Europe in three different countries and in five different States of the US. I have traveled extensively all over the world and I can assure you that, there is no other state or country which compares to California. Once you have visited this great State you would want to come back again and again.  After your first visit I am confident that many of you will decide what I have done about 19+ years ago: Move here and settle down.  (Luckily for you, I am a Relocation Specialist who can help you in making your dream a reality) I consider California as if it was at least four different countries combined into one: (1) the Northern Part, (2) the Central Part, (3)  the Southern Part and of course (4) the Beach Part. So there you have it, four different parts combined make up the Great State of California. There are stories behind each and every scenery and location in California.  Many books have been written about each and every one of them.   The Seasons changes in all four parts of these state (contrary to popular misconceptions) visitors are greeted with the beauty of this state in the mountains, the desert, the beaches or the cities.   One of the Crown jewels of California is its coastline: the historic seaside towns of El Segundo, Marina Del Rey, Venice, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Topanga and Malibu comprise of what I call a sprawling cosmopolitan beach paradise!  This part of California is better known as the Santa Monica Bay by historians and students of Geography.   If you decide that I was right, please reach out to me since I am a Relocation Specialist who will find you a home here or near hereJ. Local Halloween events: in the Greater Los Angeles Area!

Posted by on 7:03 am in Active Rain | 0 comments

Local Halloween events: In the Greater Los Angeles Area. There is always the age old question, where to go what to do? Well it all depends if you have children or you are an adult, if you are single or in a relationship it makes a difference where you want to go for HalloweenJ   If you are an adult and want to go to have some Adult Halloween then clearly:   Wednesday October 30th, 2013 you need to be at Emerson Theater 7080 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028: This will have Haunted Theater & Music to dance and be Ghoulish!   General Admission is $30 & VIP $60 have a Haunted TimeJ   Thursday October 31st, 2013, Now this day the activities are almost limitless:   I will highlight one: If you would like to participate in the Hollywood Pub Crawl then clearly you need to be at 1624 N Cahuenga Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90028. Make sure you are ready with costumes and be prepared for multiple venues all along the Walk of Fame on Hollywood Blvd with some mind numbing drink specials.   Here is how it works: 1. Buy your ticket for the day, 2. Check in at the above address at 5:00pm 3. You will receive a Map of all the participating establishments and bars and when they are participating in the drink specials, generally this last for a 3 hour period. Hence there will be multiple venues up to 8 participating in the drink specials.   Needless to say I would suggest you have either your App for Ueber to get a ride home or have local taxi numbers handy.   General admission is $20 and there are many reasonable priced drinks from $2 for beers to $4 for shots and mixed drinks. If you do not think this is reasonable you have not went out drinking in the greater Los Angeles area Now if you are more a voyeur and do not want to drink and make a fool of yourself, then you can jump in your car and drive around your neighborhood. It does not matter if you are in Venice, Marina Del Rey, West Los Angeles or Beverly Hills. Halloween is such a special time that many Home Owners decorate their homes and their Yards very elaborately and it is a very inexpensive fun way to spend the evening.   This is Free & Open to the Public. My favorite way to enjoy HalloweenJ   If you are considering buying or selling a luxury home, or an ultra luxury home, or luxury investment real estate, or luxury vacation homes, or luxury beach properties in Southern California, Los Angeles, Century City, Westwood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Marina Del Rey, Venice or Malibu. Controversial Finish @ Red Sox & Cardinals Game @ the World Series today

Posted by on 5:44 am in Active Rain | 0 comments

Controversial Finish at the Red Sox & Cardinals Game at the World Series today!    Often times in life people see things differently, the umpires, the fans and the players. Was that interference intentional? Was it accidental, the bottom line is, it does not matter? What matters is that the players need to go out and play like today did not happen.  Needless to say easier said than done!   This reminds me of Real Estate, one day we have a property or two or three in Escrow and then something happens and we do not have them in Escrow anymore. Does it matter if the buyer could not perform, or the seller would not perform? The result is the same. We need to get back into the game and try to find a new home for that buyer, or we need to find a new buyer for that seller. The bottom line is history is great and it gives us the energy and motivation to get back into the game tomorrow.   So “GO RED SOX”!!!!J Check out the history with these picturesJ       If you are looking for a Realtor who will get up the next day as if nothing happened if we lost a buyer or if we missed out on a property, then reach out to me! Are we allowed to have pets? Questions from first time buyers in LA?

Posted by on 6:37 am in Active Rain | 0 comments

Are we allowed to have pets? Questions from first time buyers in Los Angeles. The answer is from a Pet Friendly Realtor in Los Angeles, CA 90064 Often time we receive inquiries from potential first time buyers who have lived in apartments all their lives outside of when they lived at home. One of the first question I get asked is are we allowed to have pets? The answer is usually a resounding YES. We need to add an asterisk : well provided your dog is not over 25 lbs or falls into a questionable breed. Now you might say yes I understand… let me clarify this is such a gray area. You can have a pet with a resume, references and an interview to overcome the objections. Looks can be deceiving. Look at this picture and what do you think? What a nice kitty well yes Jill loves us and is willing to greet anyone at the door because she judges people based on living with us…. On the other hand we see her run to the door and she growls when she sees a dog. So what does that tell you? She is not Dog Friendly. So when you buy a condominium make sure that your pet is under control and then you will not have any issues. Keep in mind in Los Angeles we have come a long way and most Condominiums have no problems with having pets. If you want to make sure you get the right place that is pet friendly please reach out to me Endre Barath,Jr. your Pet Friendly Realtor in the Greater Los Angeles area. Considering Relocating to the Greater Los Angeles area? Step one!

Posted by on 11:50 pm in Active Rain | 0 comments

Considering Relocating to the Greater Los Angeles area? Step one read this blog post !       Life in the Greater Los Angeles is truly awesome. The climate is second to none, compared to most climates around the world.  I have lived here for almost 20 years and would not want to live anywhere else outside of a few exceptions. I have often written about the challenges that entail making a move from one part of the world to another. Relocating from one part of the country to another has its own challenges. Then there are even more challenging relocations. That is relocating with family and pets make the task even more challenging. If you are considering relocating to the Greater Los Angeles area, I would be happy to help you in the planning stage as well as in your search phase and ultimately I would help you find the right home for you.   The first phase you should consider is the Cost of Living. I am enclosing a link to one of my older Blogs about this subject and it includes a Cost of Living Calculator. Check it out http://actvra.in/rmP   The second phase to consider is based on your lifestyle & budget where would you be most comfortable? Is it at or near the beach? Or do you prefer more the inner city feel? Or do you want a small or a larger living area? Do you need a back yard? I could go on and on. Needless to say I would suggest that  you coordinate with me and come down for a few days and I would be happy to help you find the right home that would suit your needs as well as your budget. Check out this blog about this very subject http://actvra.in/45Rr   Needless to say, we will narrow down the areas based on your likes and dislikes. Once we are at that point, I might be able to show you smaller pockets that are not well known to people who do not live in Los Angeles. As an example Outpost Estates could be a place you could call home. Check out this blog about Outpost Estates http://actvra.in/HRS   Since this is just one blog post of a series,  I do not want to overwhelm you, please reach out to me directly and we can talk about Restaurants, Shops, Grocery Stores and Wine Stores to name a few. Yes I have written blogs about those as wellJ   The best advice I can give you is: The better you plan the move, the more organized your move is the smoother the transition will be. Keep in mind this is coming not just from a Greater Los Angeles Relocation Specialist, but from a Realtor who has moved at least 26 or more times not only cross country but internationally as well. Once you made your move and settled in you will not regret it. I love living here in the Greater Los Angeles and I call Marina Del Rey home!   If you are considering buying or selling a luxury home, or an ultra luxury home, or luxury investment real estate, or luxury vacation homes, or luxury beach properties in Southern California, Los Angeles, Century City, Westwood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Marina...
