Malibu Seafood: A restaurant and a fishmonger establishment!
Malibu Seafood: A restaurant and a fishmonger establishment The largest per cent of our personal food consumption consists of seafood. I have about three or four fish market places which I love to frequent due to the of the quality and freshness of their seafood product. Malibu Seafood is one of them. Just the other day I had to go preview some land in Malibu so needless to say on the way home I had to stop in and buy a few items for dinner. For the tourists as well as the locals, it is a great place to order and enjoy the food on their Patio. I just love going into the place and buy whatever I am in the mood for and that becomes dinner for me and Diane. Interestingly the prices are reasonable for buying their products as well as if you choose to eat there. They have been here since 1972. Clearly a sign that the food preparation must be good tooJ http://www.malibuseafood.com/ If you decide you do not want to eat on the patio order in advance and you can have “take-out” as well. Next time you are on the Pacific Coast Highway and you cannot decide where to eat, well just stop into Malibu Seafood and I am confident you will be glad you did. FergusonCrest.com The Winery of Stacy Ann Ferguson a.k.a Fergie Duhamel, Stacy Ann Ferguson or just Fergie from Black Eyed Peas. Fergie and her dad Pat Ferguson have formed a family wine label entitled Ferguson Crest. The winery is located in Solvang in Santa Barbara County north of Los Angeles, CA. The Vineyard was actually founded in 2006 in preparation for the wine label launching. Depending who you talk to it is about six or seven acres of Grapes. https://fergusoncrest.com/ This happens to be a bottle of Viognier which Fergie signed at the Wine house in Los Angeles, CA. I was not there, but Diane happened to be at a marketing event last year. Diane came home all exited that she was not drinking her own wine and she looked very pregnant. (This was before their son Axle was born) not wanting to be “tattler” I held off with this post for quite a while. Fergie at New Years eve 2013 photo by Endre Barath, Jr. If you go on the website you can order this bottle without an autograph little south of $30 a bottle. After I tried it, I ended up buying quite a few bottles when the Wine house had them on sale south of $13 a bottle. It is a crisp and a well balanced white wine. If you can get it locally it is worth a try. On a side note this was my Wordless Wednesday post which generated lots of interest as to who signed the bottle hence this post (http://actvra.in/4bmw ) If you are considering buying or selling a luxury home, an ultra luxury home, luxury investment real estate, luxury vacation homes, or luxury beach properties in Southern California, Los Angeles, Century City, Westwood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Marina Del Rey, Venice or Malibu, feel free to contact me at 310.486.1002 or homes@endrebarath.com or visit one of my websites at https://www.endrebarath.com. Sadly the animals of Century City, CA have disappeared. As most of you have been reading my blogs know that I loved the idea of having the animal sculptures on Avenue of the Stars in Century City, CA. It generated warmth in a normally cold high rise neighborhood. I have written a couple of blogs how great it would be to keep the sculptures, well the powers to be did keep them a few extra months than what was anticipated. http://actvra.in/42MZ (September 08,2013) http://actvra.in/42Qd (September 10,2013) Sadly a couple of weeks ago I drove by and none of the animals were there. Just as they quietly placed them there, just as quickly the powers to be took them down. They will be missed. So just as a symbolism I will post one more statue and you know that this one flew away too! Brooklyn’s Place: a playground for dogs at St Bonnie’s Sanctuary St. Bonnie’s Sanctuary, the Canyon Country location of the 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization, Lange Foundation (www.langefoundation.com) has a playground for dogs and it is called Brooklyn’s Place. This has been constructed as a safely enclosed playground for the dogs to supplement their daily walks. And they have a ball, literally and figuratively, when they romp in Brooklyn’s Place. Diane & I went up to see former St. Bonnie’s manager, our dear Lisa…but that is another story. Diane enjoyed some well deserved dog time after our visit, her favorite St. Bonnie’s resident, Harvey (let me remind you that Harvey is still up for adoption!). I have written a “Speechless Sunday Post” about Harvey a while back. Sadly Harvey is still seeking his forever home, and he was so excited to see Diane, he was ready to go home with usJ Diane and I took Harvey to Brooklyn’s place to have a bit of fun. Well I am not sure who had a better time Diane or Harvey. They had a blast for about 25 minutes or so. Check out these pictures and you be the judge. If you are looking for a loving, loyal and fun dog then Harvey is available to be in your home, just do not have cats and you can’t be a couch potato as Harvey loves to be on the move! Bentleys everywhere in Los Angeles, CA Los Angeles has often been called the Car Capital of the World (not to be confused with Detroit, our Motor City). The Los Angeles title has been achieved by the vast amount of space, i.e., 60 square miles of greater Los Angeles alone houses probably 75% of the world’s most luxurious homes and cars. So it goes without saying that when I am not on the computer communicating with my clients and connections from all over the world, I am driving around (alas, not in a Bentley) previewing properties for all of my international and out-of-state clients based from all over the U.S., and throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The other day I could not help but notice that I saw at least five Bentleys in the short span (a mere 6 mile radius) from Century City to West Los Angeles. The good news is that I was able to capture a photo of one of these beauties at a gas station on Olympic Blvd. near Sepulveda Blvd. and the other one going towards Fox Studios on Motor Blvd near Pico Blvd. This is not an unusual occurrence since the greater Los Angeles area has one of the most affluent demographics where people are not shy about showing their wealth! Rainy afternoon in “Sunny California” Is that an oxymoron or not? Having lived in sunny California for the past 17 plus years, we are so accustomed to the sunshine that we really get excited when it rains. Interestingly this winter has been one of the driest we have had in over 30+ years. The politicians have been making hay with this. It’s even been suggested to cut back on showers. Good agendas to support for the sake of the water shortage due to the of the lack of precipitation, which is a very serious concern and one not to be taken lightly. The other day I was thrilled to be driving back from one of my listings in the midst of a much needed rain shower. I have decided to support the cause and I have cut back on drinking water and focused on drinking more wineJ. Median for Sale vs. Median Sold Single Family Residences in Brentwood, CA 90049 Brentwood California is a section of Los Angeles west of the 405 Freeway. It is bordered by Bel Air and on the East side and by Pacific Palisades on the West side. Most people who do not live in Los Angeles forget about Brentwood when they think of affluent communities. They always think of Beverly Hills and Malibu. Few people think of Brentwood which was forever made famous in 1994 by OJ Simpson murder case. When people think of this part of Los Angeles, particularly Brentwood they considered one of the quiet but affluent communities. Today I was out with clients who wanted to step into the Los Angeles market, hence they asked me what where the Median for Sale vs. Median Sold properties for the past year. Hence since I had to do the research I thought I would share it here as well. The numbers are very telling: There has been a price increase by 20% from December 2012 to December 2013. The Median price of for sale properties is down by 11%. Clearly this shows that even though prices are up by 20 % we need to realize that it is still a good value to buy in the 90049 Zip Code! Please look at these graphs and I am sure you will agree with my conclusion!
