Breaking News: Did you know that Zillow is soliciting Los Angeles…

Posted by on 10:24 pm in Active Rain | 0 comments

Did you know that Zillow is soliciting Los Angeles area members of The MLS™/CLAW and encouraging them to join the Greater South Bay Association of REALTORS which is part of a different MLS known as CRMLS??? This just came from the President of the MLS/CLAW .    Clearly most of you would agree with me that It is not the role of a third party data site to tell you which Association of REALTORS® to join.  This move appears to be in response to the policy recently implemented by The MLS™/CLAW that puts a 48 hour delay on the data feeds to third party websites, such as Zillow, Trulia, and Realtor.com.   Just in Case you did not know ·         The 48 hour third party data feed policy was designed to drive consumer traffic to the most accurate source of real estate information; the websites of the agents and brokers who service the market and to TheMLS.com™ that captures and drives leads to the membership at no cost. ·           ·         CRMLS has given notice that they are pulling out of CARETS, as of June 18th.  In a short while, as things now stand, CRMLS will not have access to data from The MLS™/CLAW. ·           ·         The 48 hour third party data feed policy only affects data that appears on third party sites, not MLSs, or IDX data feeds.  The policy is intended to apply only to new listings, not changes, and adjustments are underway for that purpose. ·           ·         The 48 hour third party data feed does not affect any listing or other information that appears in TheMLS.com™ or any other MLS that participates in CARETS. All agents who are members of The MLS™/CLAW or any other CARETS participating MLS will continue to have immediate access to your new or changed listings.  Brokers are also free to distribute their own listing data in any way they elect. ·           ·         Personally I find it not in the best interest of the Membership, never the less the Participants of The MLS™/CLAW who do not want the 48 hour delay applied to their listings can contact The MLS™/CLAW and an adjustment will be made for you at no charge. ·           The bigger picture is that there is an effort underway by some that would force all MLSs to join a statewide MLS.   I totally agree with the leadership of The MLS™/CLAW who believe that local control of your MLS is in the best interests of brokers, agents, and the entire real estate community at large.      If you are considering buying or selling a luxury home, an ultra luxury home, luxury investment real estate, luxury vacation homes, or luxury beach properties in Southern California, Los Angeles, Century City, Westwood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Marina Del Rey, Venice or Malibu, feel free to contact me at 310.486.1002 or homes@endrebarath.com or visit one of my websites at https://www.endrebarath.com.  I am a pet friendly realtor and I contribute a portion of my commissions to local animal rescue organizations. –     ...

Wow the Google Street View’s Car! How cool is thatJ??? I was driving back to the office the other day after showing some homes in Silver Lake. As soon as I finished, I needed to head back, but thought that I should go on Sunset Blvd to see the latest developments…needless to say my surprise: I saw the Google Streets View Car. Keep in mind I was heading west and saw the car, then I quickly turned around just so I could go and see where the car turned into a small area. Jamzilla: The Closing of the 405 Freeway for 80 hrs.(February 14-17th)

Posted by on 7:33 am in Active Rain | 0 comments

Jamzilla: the closing of the 405 Freeway for 80 hrs. (February 14-17th, 2014)   As most of you know I have written a few blogs about the traffic closures of the 405 Freeway called Carmageddon  I  (http://actvra.in/dPl   ),   Carmageddon finished  (http://actvra.in/fxq   )   and then Carmageddon II (http://actvra.in/HvB ) in the past.     Well this time, the powers to be changed the name to Jamzilla  and  decided to close three lanes of the 405 Freeway. I saw the huge jam on the news Friday and dreaded the idea that I had to go in this very stretch on Saturday. Needless to say I was not looking forward to it.   Now with that said, Saturday rolled around and Diane and I were heading on the 405. Just imagine my surprise of what we saw. The whole idea of the shutdown of all the lanes was to work on re-paving the 405.   First I was shocked then I was surprised and ultimately I was outraged. Look at these pictures. Through the entire stretch of the shut down we saw about 6-8 Police Officers monitoring the shut down.   Ironically we only saw a total of four (4) workers. All we saw were lanes shut down and no workers in site. Clearly this was a terrible injustice promulgated on Los Angeles Drivers and clearly the Taxpayers were scammed with Jamzilla. Look at these pictures and you tell me where I am going wrong! Someone needs to hold CALTRANS accountable and the politicians who supported this!   I am so amazed and shocked that there were hardly any workers to be seen. So if we understand this story correctly, we would have expected hundreds of workers working on three lanes since only one to two lanes were open and we would have newly paved lanes. Instead we saw pictures of no one around accept the lanes being closed. –          ...

Malibu Seafood: A restaurant and a fishmonger establishment!

Posted by on 1:11 am in Active Rain | 0 comments

Malibu Seafood: A restaurant and a fishmonger establishment The largest per cent of our personal food consumption consists of seafood. I have about three or four fish market places which I love to frequent due to the  of the quality and freshness of their seafood product. Malibu Seafood is one of them. Just the other day I had to go preview some land in Malibu so needless to say on the way home I had to stop in and buy a few items for dinner. For the tourists as well as the locals, it is a great place to order and enjoy the food on their Patio.  I just love going into the place and buy whatever I am in the mood for and that becomes dinner for me and Diane. Interestingly the prices are reasonable for buying their products as well as if you choose to eat there. They have been here since 1972. Clearly a sign that the food preparation must be good tooJ http://www.malibuseafood.com/ If you decide you do not want to eat on the patio order in advance and you can have “take-out” as well. Next time you are on the Pacific Coast Highway and you cannot decide where to eat, well just stop into Malibu Seafood and I am confident you will be glad you did.   Address: 25653 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265 Phone:(310) 456-3430 Hours:  11:00 am – 8:00 pm   If you are considering buying or selling a luxury home, an ultra luxury home, luxury investment real estate, luxury vacation homes, or luxury beach properties in Southern California, Los Angeles, Century City, Westwood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Marina Del Rey, Venice or Malibu, feel free to contact me at 310.486.1002 or homes@endrebarath.com or visit one of my websites at https://www.endrebarath.com.  I am a pet friendly realtor and I contribute a portion of my commissions to local animal rescue organizations. –            ...

Malibu, CA, 90265 consists of about 21 miles of Coastal Beaches!

Posted by on 7:55 am in Active Rain | 0 comments

Malibu, CA, 90265 consists of about 21 miles of Coastal Beaches! Many who consider Malibu think of movie stars and the rich and famous. Undeniably that is a part of the equation and of the demographics of Malibu. What many do not realize is that those who consider Malibu and call it home are many of the Billionaires of the United States as well as the world? Per square feet there are more Billionaires in Malibu than anywhere in the world. If you are looking for an Ocean View Home that is probably one of the easiest request a potential home buyer could ask from a Realtor. The question is what will  your budget  allow i.e.: will you be on the Beach Side of the Pacific Coast Highway or will you be on the Land Side of the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, CA. The good news is that there are certain parts of Malibu, CA where even though your home might be on the Land Side but there are Beach Rights for you to enjoy as well.  Needless to say there are many other facets of Malibu that are not known to many. So should you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me directly. So if you hear or read about these beaches it is clear you are hearing or reading about Malibu, CA: Carbon Beach, Paradise Cove, Escondido Beach, Surfrider Beach, Broad Beach, Pirate’s Cove, Westward Beach, Zuma Beach, and Trancas are clearly places along the coast of Malibu. Point Dume forms the northern end of the Santa Monica Bay and is part of the World re-known Malibu Coast . Needless to say besides the Beaches, the other attraction is  clearly the temperate climate. Just to give you an idea here it is almost midnight and the temperature is a comfortable 55 degreesJ! –          ...

FergusonCrest.com The Winery of Stacy Ann Ferguson aka Fergie Duhamel!

Posted by on 12:11 am in Active Rain | 0 comments

FergusonCrest.com  The Winery of Stacy Ann Ferguson a.k.a   Fergie Duhamel, Stacy Ann Ferguson or just Fergie from Black Eyed Peas. Fergie and her dad Pat Ferguson have formed a family wine label entitled Ferguson Crest. The winery is located in Solvang in Santa Barbara County north of Los Angeles, CA. The Vineyard was actually founded in 2006 in preparation for the wine label launching. Depending who you talk to it is about six or seven acres of Grapes. https://fergusoncrest.com/   This happens to be a bottle of Viognier which Fergie signed at the Wine house in Los Angeles, CA.  I was not there, but Diane happened to be at a marketing event last year.   Diane came home all exited that she was not drinking her own wine and she looked very pregnant. (This was before their son Axle was born) not wanting to be “tattler” I held off with this post for quite a while. Fergie at New Years eve 2013 photo by Endre Barath, Jr. If you go on the website you can order this bottle without an autograph little south of $30 a bottle.  After I tried it, I ended up buying quite a few bottles when the Wine house had them on sale south of $13 a bottle. It is a crisp and a well balanced white wine. If you can get it locally it is worth a try. On a side note this was my Wordless Wednesday post which generated lots of interest as to who signed the bottle hence this post (http://actvra.in/4bmw )   If you are considering buying or selling a luxury home, an ultra luxury home, luxury investment real estate, luxury vacation homes, or luxury beach properties in Southern California, Los Angeles, Century City, Westwood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Marina Del Rey, Venice or Malibu, feel free to contact me at 310.486.1002 or homes@endrebarath.com or visit one of my websites at https://www.endrebarath.com.  I am a pet friendly realtor and I contribute a portion of my commissions to local animal rescue organizations. –        ...

The animal sculptures of Century City,CA are gone!

Posted by on 6:11 am in Active Rain | 0 comments

Sadly the animals of Century City, CA have disappeared. As most of you have been reading my blogs know that I loved the idea of having the animal sculptures on Avenue of the Stars in Century City, CA. It generated warmth in a normally cold high rise neighborhood. I have written a couple of blogs how great it would be to keep the sculptures, well the powers to be did keep them a few extra months than what was anticipated. http://actvra.in/42MZ  (September 08,2013) http://actvra.in/42Qd  (September 10,2013)   Sadly a couple of weeks ago I drove by and none of the animals were there. Just as they quietly placed them there, just as quickly the powers to be took them down. They will be missed. So just as a symbolism I will post one more statue and you know that this one flew away too! –...
