Have you ever been to the Mission San Juan Capistrano?

Have you ever been to the Mission San Juan Capistrano? If not this is a must see destination for lovers of California history.  There is so much to tell, I will need to do a few posts about this. So in the near future I will write a little about:  1. the history, 2. the earthquake, 3. the mission bells, 4. the return of the Swallows 5. And of course I would be remiss if I did not write about the Hollywood connection to the mission.

Just a teaser: The mission was founded on November 1, 1776, by Spanish Franciscan Order priests.  The founding priests were Father Fermin Lasuen, if you go to the Mission Father Presidente Junipero Serra will take top billing and the third lesser know Father Gregorio Amurrio  will be in the background. It is like in the movies there is the Main Star and then there are the Supporting roles.

The Mission San Juan Capistrano has the oldest building in existence that is still in use in California. That of course is the “Serra’s Chapel” built in 1782.

Now with that said today I will just post a few pictures to peak your curiosity.
