The number of homeless animals (primarily dogs and cats) in Los Angeles alone is staggering. Many find their way to local animal shelters, where thousands are euthanized annually.  Some of these animal are fortunate enough to be 'pulled' from the shelters by rescue organizations, where they are cared for and nurtured and given a second chance at life.

These rescue organizations face huge ongoing costs to care for the many animals under their care until a new home is found for these animals.

The Molly's Mutts and Meows annual fundraiser is Saturday, September 26th at Joxer Daly’s Irish Pub in Culver City.
The hours are from 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM.

On Sunday, October 4, The Rescue Train will once again host it's annual Race for the Rescues at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.  The Race for the Rescues is a  5K (3.1 miles) run/walk which raises funds for local non-profit animal rescue groups.  This years groups are:  The Rescue Train, Mollys Mutts and Meows, A Dog's Life, Four Legged Friends Foundation, Best Friends Animal Society, Animal Alliance and Stray Cat Alliance.  Dog and cat adoptions will also be held for Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA LA Animal Services.  For more information on how you can sign up for the race, please visit www.racefortherescues.org
